Blasts for gyms, studios and clubs

Getting members is expensive. Keeping them engaged shouldn't be.

Create a direct connection with members for classes, schedule changes, challenges, events and offers. Messages land on their screen, not in an inbox they stopped checking after week three.

Built on Blasts. Members connect once, control what they receive, and you pay no per-message carrier fee.

Three mornings every operator recognizes

You paid for the lead, ran the trial, closed the membership. Then the member goes quiet, and nothing in your stack tells them you noticed.

The 6 a.m. class that got canceled at 5:15

The instructor is sick. Twelve people are already awake and driving. The cancellation went out as an email that will be read at 9 and a post in the app most members turned notifications off for. Three of them show up to a locked door, and one of them cancels next month.

The member who faded after week six

He joined in January, came four times a week, then twice, then not at all. Your system knows his last check-in date. Your only ways to reach him are a mass email in the promotions tab and a per-message SMS to a number he gave the front desk once. He churns in March without ever hearing from a person at the club.

The challenge that filled halfway

The 30-day challenge, the charity ride, the members-only workshop. Announced once by email, mentioned on Instagram, forgotten by the weekend. No countdown, no calendar entry, no nudge to the members who did the last one. Half the spots went unfilled.

There's another way

Connect once. Communicate directly.

Blasts is built around persistent connections between parties who already know each other. A member connects with your club once. From then on you have a direct, encrypted channel that puts your message on their phone or desktop screen with your name and photo and a badge that says whether it is an event, an offer, an update, or an emergency that pins to the top when the facility closes.

  • A connection must exist before a Blast is delivered. Members approve you; you cannot Blast someone who has not connected.
  • Blasts travel over an encrypted Blasts connection, not through the SMS carrier network or an email server.
  • Members stay in control: they can mute you for 24 hours, set quiet hours, or disconnect silently at any time.
  • Delivered, read and reply counts come from confirmed member actions, not tracking pixels.

Where a club connects with its members

Membership is a relationship with a defined start, and the club already owns the moments when a member is paying attention. That is where the connection happens.

  1. Signup, class booking or front desk

A member signs up, books a class, opens the member portal or checks in at the front desk. Right there, in the welcome and the confirmation, the club offers a direct connection.

  2. Member connects once

The member accepts on their phone while they are most engaged, and the club approves. One connection, made once, for as long as they belong.

  3. You reach them where they look

From then on, the 6 a.m. cancellation, the challenge countdown, the renewal offer and the note from a coach land on the member's screen, from a name they know.

Reach members where they already look, before the class, not after.

Placing the invite in onboarding removes friction; it does not replace the member's approval, and a member can mute or disconnect silently at any time.

What clubs use a direct member channel for

Not every message belongs on a member's screen. These earn their place.

Class cancellations and schedule changes

Instructor out, room change, holiday schedule, a new 5:30 p.m. spin slot. Sent to the class list, seen on the member's phone before they leave the house.

Facility closures and safety notices

Weather, a plumbing failure, a power outage, an early close. An Emergency Blast pulses red and pins to the top; an FYI covers routine maintenance windows.

Challenges, events and workshops

The 30-day challenge, the charity ride, a nutrition workshop, the members' holiday party. Sent as an Event Blast with a countdown and a calendar attachment so the date sticks and the room fills.

Re-engaging quiet members

A short voice Blast from a coach to the list of members who have not been in for three weeks, or a Promo for a free guest pass to bring a friend back with them.

Offers, renewals and referrals

Early-renewal offers to members whose term ends next month, referral rewards, personal-training packages, a VIP-badged first look at the new studio.

Waitlist openings and bookings

A spot opened in Saturday's 9 a.m. class. Blast the waitlist with the booking link. Take a workshop deposit with a payment link, or ask the list to vote on the next class time with a poll.

Why this belongs beside email, SMS and your club app

Every member has an acquisition cost: ads, trial offers, staff time, the free week. Email only works when the member notices and opens it. SMS charges you per message and lives under strict opt-out rules. Club-app push notifications are easy to switch off. None of them was built for a club that already knows exactly who its members are and when they stopped coming.

Retention costs less than acquisition, and a Blast is one prepaid credit

Credits are bought once and never expire. One typed Blast to one member is one prepaid credit; a voice Blast is two. There is no carrier fee and no subscription, so a daily schedule Blast to 2,000 members is a predictable line that one recovered membership easily covers.

It reaches the member before the class, not after

The Blast appears on the member's screen with your club's name and photo. Read acknowledgements tell you who actually saw the cancellation, from confirmed actions rather than open pixels.

It fits the moments you already own

Welcome emails, booking confirmations, the member portal and the front desk are already part of every membership. Adding the invite there costs nothing extra and turns onboarding into a durable connection.

It plays with the tools you already run

Blasts integrates with Stripe, PayPal, Calendly and Cal.com, Zapier, and CRMs such as HubSpot, so payment links, bookings and member records can stay in the systems you already use.

Built for the members you already have

Blasts is not a way to advertise to people who have never walked into your club, and FitnessBlasts does not pretend otherwise. It is built for the audience a gym or studio works hardest to earn: members who signed, showed up and want to keep showing up. That constraint is exactly why a Blast from your club feels like a note from a coach, not a marketing text.

  • Members connect once during onboarding, in the portal or at the front desk; you do not need to buy or manage a mobile-number list.
  • A member can mute you, set quiet hours so a 5 a.m. schedule note doesn't wake them, or disconnect without telling anyone.
  • The connection is with your club, so it survives a change of club-management software or email platform.

For the person who will set it up

How the connection is built

For the owner, general manager or front-desk lead who will set this up: here is what sits behind the three steps above.

  1. Invite link in the signup, welcome and booking flow

Blasts gives your club a personal invite link (blasts.app/connect/[ID]). Add it to the welcome email and onboarding sequence every new member receives, right beside the app download and key-fob instructions, and to the member portal and class-booking confirmations. One tap and the member approves the connection.

  2. Connection code at the front desk and in the locker room

Post your 4-digit connection code, or a QR that opens the invite link, at the front desk and on locker-room signage. Public organization codes work the way blasts.app describes for a bill or flyer: the member requests, your club approves each one.

  3. Invite the members you already have

For the existing membership, upload your opted-in member roster and send personalized Blasts invitations at scale through Amazon SES, Microsoft 365 or Gmail. Each member still accepts before anything is delivered. Members receive Blasts through the iOS or Android app, a browser extension or the web app at blasts.app.

  4. Build distribution lists by how your club runs

Create lists by location, class program, membership tier, personal-training clients or the 6 a.m. regulars. A list reaches every member at once with no per-recipient cap, and large lists can be staggered into daily waves.

  5. Send with the right badge and format

Typed Blasts, a 90-second voice note from a coach (auto-transcribed), an Event Blast with a countdown and calendar attachment for the next challenge, a poll, or a payment link for a workshop. Facility closures go out with the Emergency badge, which pulses red and auto-pins to the top; routine maintenance windows go out as FYI.

Exact setup steps will be documented in the rollout guide once confirmed against current Blasts documentation. FitnessBlasts does not claim any club-software integration; the invite goes in the emails, portal and confirmations your club already controls.

In one paragraph

What is FitnessBlasts?

FitnessBlasts is an implementation of Blasts for gyms, boutique studios, clubs and training facilities that want a direct channel to the members they have already signed. A member connects once, at a moment the club already owns such as the membership signup, the welcome email, the member portal or a class booking, and the club can then deliver encrypted Blasts about classes, schedule changes, challenges, events and offers directly to the member's phone or desktop screen. It is a retention and engagement channel for known members, not a way to advertise to strangers.

Direct answers

Can we Blast anyone, including trial visitors and old leads?

No. A person must approve the connection before any Blast is delivered. Blasts is built for existing relationships, and FitnessBlasts is built for the members who have connected with your club, not a purchased list or every lead in your CRM.

A trial visitor can connect if you invite them at the front desk and they accept; the point is that they choose. That is why a Blast from you lands on a member's screen with your name and photo instead of being filtered as marketing.

How does a gym or studio establish Blasts connections with members?

By putting the invite where the member already is: a personal invite link in the welcome email, onboarding sequence, member portal and class-booking confirmations, a 4-digit connection code or QR at the front desk and in the locker room, or personalized invitations sent to an opted-in member roster through Amazon SES, Microsoft 365 or Gmail. The member accepts once and receives Blasts through the iOS or Android app, a browser extension or blasts.app.

Public organization codes let a member request a connection from posted material; your club approves. See the implementation section above; step-by-step setup will be published in the FitnessBlasts rollout guide once confirmed against current Blasts documentation.

How are Blasts different from SMS or club-app push notifications?

Blasts have no per-message carrier fee, travel over encrypted tunnels rather than the carrier network, show your club's name and photo with an Event, Promo or Emergency badge, and report read acknowledgements from confirmed actions. They require the member to connect first, which SMS does not.

Members can also set FIND ME relay rules that forward Blasts to email, SMS, Slack or voicemail based on the sender, so a member who prefers texts can still get your cancellation notice their way.

How fast can we tell 300 members a class is canceled?

A distribution list lets you name the class list once and reach every member at the same time, with no per-recipient cap. A typed Blast consumes one credit per recipient, so 300 credits, and it appears on connected phones and desktops with a read acknowledgement when each member sees it.

Can a Blast carry an event, a poll or a payment link?

Yes. Blasts supports events with a countdown and calendar attachment, interactive polls, payment links, cloud attachments, rich typed messages with images and links, and voice Blasts up to 3 minutes with auto-transcription. Blasts also integrates with Stripe, PayPal, Calendly and Cal.com.

Will members feel spammed?

Members decide. They approve the connection, and at any time they can mute you for 24 hours, set quiet hours, turn on Do Not Disturb, or cut you off silently. Blasts also auto-delete after 30 days, so an old offer does not linger.

What does it cost to Blast 2,000 members?

A typed Blast consumes one credit per recipient, so 2,000 credits; a voice Blast from a coach consumes two per recipient. Credits are prepaid, never expire, and are available through BlastCredits.com.

Do we need a subscription?

No. Credits are one-time deposits with no monthly subscription requirement, and they never expire. Buy what your membership needs and top up as you grow.
